Waterford Jazz Weekender Festival 2015

Festival showcasing an eclectic mixture of jazz music – Big Band Swing, Bebop, New Orleans, Jazz-Funk, Modern, and Gypsy Jazz. Featuring indoor and outdoor concerts, workshops and jam sessions from September 4th to 6th 2015.

Waterford Jazz Weekender is a festival dedicated to celebrating jazz and giving Irish jazz musicians a public forum for their music. The festival prides itself on creating a feel-good vibe and providing high quality entertainment for the public. Expect a wide variety of styles – Big Band Swing, Bebop, New Orleans, Jazz-Funk, Modern, and Gypsy Jazz – in a variety of settings from outdoor café style jazz in the daytime, to fantastic evening gigs and concerts. The weekend is family-friendly, accessible, and has a great collaborative feel to it.

As an added bonus, there are also instrumental workshops available during the festival to those wishing to learn and improve their jazz skills. All are welcome – beginners and advanced, young and old. And for those who want to take part in proceedings there will be a jazz jam session, so bring your instrument along and get playing!
